So, in the past I wrote about going to your first Munch or your first Club Event. Now you’re ready for some fun. Lets talk about a real, honest too God play party.
First, what is a play party? A play party is a social gathering of kinksters where bondage and S&M practices happen. Often, you will be invited to one after a a munch or club event. Don’t rush yourself if you don’t feel ready, and don’t let someone there pressure you to go. But, in the end, they are a whole lot of fun. Usually it is held in a private home, but events are also held at hotels and in fetish clubs. (Regular clubs that serve alcohol have issues with our activities and maintaining a license to sell alcohol.)
When you get there, you will be presented with the house rules of the club or home owner (usually, sometimes these rules are assumed among good friends, or given out in advance). You will find that there is a social area, where people can gather and talk amongst themselves. Refreshments, if offered, can be found here. This is a good place to hear about scenes from days past, and perhaps pickup a new technique or two. Be careful though, that what you do doesn’t turn into play, as this is the wrong area for that.
You will also find a few play areas, with equipment set up for your use. You may find St. Andrews crosses (perhaps the most common dungeon furniture), spanking benches or medical/massage tables (for waxing or medical play). You don’t have to play. Just go through the rooms and watch the first time. Voyeurism is encouraged. Just remember to be respectful, stay quiet, and stay out of the swinging arm of the Top (or you could find yourself in the middle of a scene rather non-consensually). If you see something you want to learn about, wait until after the scene (and the aftercare) and ask then.
