Daily Texan Writes Nice About Lifestylers

27 01 2010

I found this article in the Daily Texan written by a novice with a negative view of the BDSM Community.

Bondage and discipline, domination and submission, sadism and masochism — these are the many faces of the loaded BDSM acronym. But as multifaceted and large as the BDSM community is, the majority of us never actually encounter it in real life.

I think my earliest introduction to the BDSM lifestyle came from the gimp in “Pulp Fiction” and the dominatrix in “Shortbus,” and neither character made me think very highly of the subculture. Not to mention the years of “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit” marathons, which taught me that BDSM is sexual perversion wherein selfish, deranged men torture women. So when I decided to see for myself what BDSM culture was like, I was more than a little bit nervous about the possible naivete of my plan.

A quick Google query of “Austin, BDSM” took me to CentralTexasKink.org, a clearinghouse Web site where I was able to find a few local groups aimed at beginners in the BDSM lifestyle, including The Next Generation and Austin Voyagers.

I would really suggest you read the rest. Particularly if you have never attended a public gathering of Kinksters. I found it amusing that she spent 45 minutes looking for the kinky folks. As a bonus for me, I know some people in the area so it is nice to have a frame of reference. lol.

Master Void Interviews namaste

21 10 2009

And I bet you are asking yourself, who is namaste?  Well for one namaste is the slave who mentored my little esclave. But I will let her introduce herself.

slave – namaste has counseled women and taught about embracing submission for over 15 years. She brings this knowledge into her relationship serving as Master Obsidians’ 24/7 TPE slave as well as to counseling and aiding in the development of other slaves in the lifestyle. Her writings on surrender and absolute slavery have been featured on web sites and in books. She is Founder and co-moderator of various lifestyle groups, including one geared specifically for slaves in TPE relationships. She is into Domestic Service, Protocols, Spirituality and The Art of Surrender.

Obsidian and her make a wonderful pair, and have served as an influence for both myself and my slave.  I wanted to interview both of them, and namaste had her interview ready first.

Things in the News

30 09 2008

Not sure what to make of the first story, but it should go without saying that a 50 should not be playing with 15 and 17 year olds.

A Christchurch man has been convicted on two charges relating to cutting and scarring two teenage girls who went to a house he had converted into a dungeon.

The man, an importer in his 50s, was acquitted on charges of indecent assault and doing indecent acts.

The trial was told of girls aged 15 and 17 undergoing the practice. One had a dragon image cut into her skin, and the other had cuts in between her breasts.

At least one of them had been chained when the cutting was done.

Creepy.

On a lighter note, puppy play is in the news in Dallas, TX.

A proud member of the leather community, Fiddick presents “Pup 101,” a Saturday morning workshop at the International Puppy & Trainer Conference which will be held in conjunction at this weekend’s Beyond Vanilla conference, a BDSM social weekend.

Fiddick explains that puppy play isn’t really that sexual. Now some canines are into “breeding sessions,” but that’s usually geared for dogs, who are generally more mature, might not have as much energy as a puppy and are typically less playful.

Sounds like fun.  Maybe I should get myself a puppy.

Beyond Vanillia

22 03 2008

Beyond Vanillia is a BDSM event happening in Dallas, Texas. It celebrates its 18th anniversary this year and has a lot planned this year, or so I am told.  The Leather Quilt will be there, along with the International Puppy/Trainer Conference.  Also the National Leather Association International is holding their one of their meetings there as well.  They even have some live entertainment. The list of presenters are not up yet, but if you are going to be in the area during the 26-28th of September, I would suggest you check it out.
