A new resource

If you are looking for a new resource to learn about BDSM or if you are looking for a place to chat and get to know others in this lifestyle take a look at this video.

Off to visit my girl

So when this posts, I will be hopefully boarding a plane and heading north to visit my girl. I do miss her and I feel very fortunate that she has decided that it is I whom she wants to serve and dedicate her life.

Turns out that another of the House will be there too, what a coincidence.  I like serendipity.

I don’t want to leave you guys with nothing to look at so here are a couple of links.  The first is to a review of a DVD about a documentary about a bondage photographer. Sounds like a good movie. I need to see if it is available through Netflix.

here are many things that Liberty In Restraint is not. It is not a salacious exposé, fodder for the moral mainstream to laugh and point at the marginalised. It is not titillation, a wank fest for the furry handcuff brigade. It is not educational — for every question it answers, it raises three more.

Above all, Liberty In Restraint is an intimate portrait of one man, his extended family and his personal journey around the sharp edges of life. And it makes for disturbing, beautiful viewing.

The second is a posting describing a bondage photography art show in Germany.

Bondage photographs showing Japanese women tied up in various states of undress are the centrepiece of an art show set to open Friday in the German city of Hanover. The 74 poster-sized colour images by art photographer Nobuyoshi Araki, 67, will be on display at the Kestner museum alongside 140 wood-cut images by Katsushika Hokusai, who died in 1849.

(Ok I am going to cheat, here is some of his art for a third link., See you on Monday)

Hanson PaddleWerks

Hanson Paddles is an wonderful site full of lovely paddles and other things for the Lifestyle enthusiast. These are real players who user their own product, and continue to innovate.

Company Origins

John Hanson started making his own paddles in the late seventies
because he could not find paddles that met his standards for safety
and quality. From that humble basement shop beginning he began
making paddles for his spanking friends and then for their friends.
His hobby snowballed until Hanson Percussion Instruments
was incorporated in 1992.

Spanking is our favorite kink. We have learned a great deal about
spanking from some very knowledgeable people over the years and
continue to learn from experience as we continue “playing”.

I have used their products over the years and can say that they make my favorite paddles.  They offer a variety of shapes and woods, so you can have the right paddle for the job.

Do you own a Hanson paddle? Perhaps you have a favorite manufacturer?  Please let me know in the comments section below.

Article on BDSM in the Gazette

the Gazette is apparently a student newspaper in Ontario, Canada. It had an article on fetishes and fetishism, focusing a large part on BDSM.  Thought it was an interesting read.  Wish they had stories like that when I was in school.

“Fetishistic interests fall on a continuum,” psychology professor Guy Grenier explains. For example, cross-dressing fetish can be as simple as a man wearing colourful clothes, or so extensive as to fool sexual partners.

Grenier says BDSM — standing for bondage, discipline, dominance and submission, sadism and masochism — is among the most common sexual fetishes. “BDSM brings together themes of power and domination and combining them with sexual interest.”

“BDSM is the forbidden fruit,” a London BDSM community organizer, Dark Angel, known to friends as DA, says. “It’s like the Garden of Eden. The problem with it is, once you have a taste, it’s hard to go back to living without the thrill.”
