Masks

I am a big fan of masks. I find them interesting ways to conceal the identity of the wearer. Useful for taking pictures of those you don’t want exposed to the world. More useful though, is the use of masks to deny the senses.

I find using a hood (just another type of mask) over the head of my slave is useful for control. It denies her senses, disorients her. A mask conceals what I want concealed. A useful technique, especially when you don’t want your slave to know what will happen next (or when you accidentally hit the ceiling fan instead).

One more interesting use of masks is the Vi Johnson Award, presented every year at BlackBEAT. Ms. Johnson buys a mask every year which is then awarded to someone who makes a significant impact in the Lifestyle amongst people of color. Every mask has a different meaning.

What meaning does the mask you wear have?

The Enso by Orpheus Black

Today, I am passing this along. A friend posted it and I thought it would be a good fit for what I am doing here.

The Enso – Press Release – Final [A]

March 26, 2008

The Enso is more than a manual for subs and slaves. The material Orpheus Black gives us ranges from the practical to the profound. Initially he wrote The Enso for his own family and then so to speak, word got out. As he focuses on the much needed initial steps for a person beginning their journey into BDSM, the author also addresses topics relevant to all levels of experience.

The writing is succinct and evocative. Orpheus demonstrates his clear understanding of the difficulties, pleasures and ecstasies of the D/s relation. The Enso is dedicated to growth. This is what makes it such a valuable read. You will continue to benefit from its richness through time and experience. Orpheus knows the way of the poet. He skillfully blends his years of D/s experience with Eastern and classical Western views to reveal an original vision of wholeness within our lifestyle.

“Enso” is an ancient Japanese term that conveys the innate duality and wholeness found in service. It refers to the “No and Yo” duality of forces in Japanese that is similar to the more familiar Chinese “Yin and Yang.” Enso is primarily concerned with the clarity of mind and purpose that must evolve in artful service. Orpheus elaborates his views of this reality in parable, simple prose, and through the figures of the Priest, Poet and Warrior. These figures how three distinct and essential dimensions of commitment and service.

The Enso is a vital meditation on our way of life. In this volume you’ll find portions devoted to conflict resolution, together with ways to organize and process your experience. His focus on self-reflection will creatively enhance your capacities for giving. It will further increase your value in the eyes of the Dominant or Master you serve.

Most important the author sensitively provides you with the necessary steps to move beyond the illusions of a vanilla world and into your true self. Obviously this is a critical and significant task.

Orpheus is known for his powerful, highly skilled and sensual scenes. In the realm of BDSM performance he is an artist and innovator. He is the host of Fetish at Night on Primetimeuncensored.com, and the founder of the Cirque de’ Sade. As you read The Enso you’ll hear the thoughtfulness that forms the backdrop of his compelling and widely appreciated scenes.

It is plainly evident that the author’s own creative struggles and private journey resonate throughout the pages of this book. His passions, missteps and losses generate the energy of this work. These insights provide the reader with a window to their own voyage and how best to prepare.

One afternoon a few of us gathered to review an early draft of The Enso. The energy grew as we shared our views and personal experiences. I’ll not forget that afternoon as Dominants and submissives spoke of our unique journeys with seriousness and laughter. I looked over at the author and noted his genuine surprise as The Enso came to life before his eyes. What had been intended as an intimate document for his family was transformed into a crucial touchstone for each of us within the group.

Quite beyond the crucial orientation and self-study that this book offers you, I suggest that it can be a powerful catalyst for group dialogues. The Enso amplifies and assists to clarify the realities of our lifestyle. It opens pathways to new beginnings and creativity. Perhaps obviously I believe it is destined to become a “must read” and classic in our community. No one will come away untouched by its wisdom and practicality.

Dark Connections

If your interested in an area where the Lifestyle and people of color merge, then I would urge you begin with Dark Connections. I have met both Scourge and coffee (at BlackBEAT events) and know them to be wonderful people who have created a unique online presence.  From their website, I found the following biography:

Scourge and coffee launched Dark Connections on Valentines Day, February 14, 2003. They enjoy a loving D/s relationship and are also the closest of friends and confidants. Scourge is the founder, copy editor, advisor and co-designer of the site. coffee is the co-founder, web-designer, moderator and graphic artist.

The Dark Connections website has a library, dictionary, and links to many groups that novices and experienced alike will find useful. Their online Yahoo group often gets 50 or more posts a day, and often is educational and always entertaining. I hope that you get a chance to check them out. If you have any comments about them, well you know where to put them.

P.S. No this isn’t an April Fools day prank. I should have thought of something, but alas I didn’t.

I apologize

Okay it is taking me way too long to write this due to the fact that I am doing my usual beat around the bush to avoid the issue or justify my actions in some way.    As Sir tells me sooner is better than later.Sir I need to apologize to you.

I have asked so much of you and have tested your love, care and dedication for not only me but my children to the point where today I almost put an end to us. Unthinkingly I asked you to accept just one more condition in our relationship. Still trying to control this relationship and forgetting the operative words…O/our relationship. It is not about me, I am not the only one giving up or adjusting their life for this relationship. From the moment we met I trusted you and felt safe with you.

Sir what can I do but beg your forgiveness. I beg your forgiveness for treating your feelings as if they didn’t matter. For totally taking your for granted and for thinking that whatever I wanted would be acceptable. This is not the relationship I want to have with you. I look for you to be my Master not on my terms but what is best for U/us and O/our relationship.

I love you Sir…I love you very very much.  You are a good thing in my life.  Someone I wish to be with for a long time.

Please forgive me for hurting you or for causing you any type of distress.

Vegan Strippers?

I was perusing the web the other day and I ran across this story about a vegan strip club. Anyone who knows me, knows I appreciate a beautiful nude woman, so I read some more.

TWO things that you can find a lot of in Portland, Ore., are vegans and strip clubs. Johnny Diablo decided to open a business to combine both. At his Casa Diablo Gentlemen’s Club, soy protein replaces beef in the tacos and chimichangas; the dancers wear pleather, not leather. Many are vegans or vegetarians themselves.

But Portland is also home to a lot of young feminists, and some are not happy with Mr. Diablo’s venture. Since he opened the strip club last month, their complaints have been “all over the Internet,” he said. “One of them came in here once. I could tell she had an attitude right when she came in. She was all hostile.”

However, it appears that the club isn’t doing too well. If your a vegan and want to get your freak on, you had better hurry.

Last week Mr. Diablo put the club up for sale, although not because of the criticism, he said. He may have overestimated the appeal of stripping to vegans, or of vegan cuisine to striptease fans; an earlier vegan restaurant he ran was poorly received.

It appears that the whole idea of a strip club focusing on veganism is quite controversial and many vegans are offended by it. Others find sex a good way to target men to convert to their ways. Personally I am glad that I found a woman who eats healthily, but still enjoys a good steak.

Anyway I hope you enjoy this story as much as I have.

A modern day fembot?

A TSA agent told a woman she would have to remove her nipple rings if she wanted to pass the security checkpoint. The woman has retained Gloria Allred as her attorney.

A woman was forced by the Transportation Security Administration to remove her nipple rings before she was allowed to board a flight, an attorney said on Thursday.”The woman was given a pair of pliers in order to remove the rings in her nipples,” said Los Angeles attorney Gloria Allred. “The rings had been in her nipples for many years.”
