Service Book of Days 2/19/10

I am writing this a bit late, okay very late, because I came back from spending 5 wonderful days being with Master.

v Outside my window… (weather, what do you hear, what do you see?)  is darkness.  It is about 2:00am and I am not quite sleepy although I feel on the yucky side.

v my thoughts… many.  Making plans and fixing stuff for our move.

v Today’s Quote…

Holding onto anger is like grasping onto a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else. You are the one who gets burned.
Gautama Buddha

v i am thankful for…my youngest daughter’s master plan for her life and she is only 12…lol

v From my service training…(any skills, training etc; notes you want to share this week) Grace and inner peace.

v From the kitchen…(menu for the week, what are you cooking?)  nothing special this week.

v i am wearing… nothing…snuggled underneath warm covers.  I love it when the room is a little cold and I am snuggled under the many blankets on my bed.

v i am creating…(crafts, sewing etc;)  nothing at the moment.

v my adventures this week…(where are you going this week?)  no adventures this week.  I will be hanging around the house with my kids and getting my energy back.

v Becoming well read…(What are you reading this week?)  Listening to my podcasts.  I am currently listening  to one about Indian burial grounds

v i manifest and co-create…(what are your hopes, dreams, and prayers this week) Words of hope and peace and confidence for my children.  Words of perseverance and the desire to do it now instead of later

v Today’s Melody…(what music are you listening to? even if it’s just the sound of a bird…) No songs today

v One of my favorite things…is to get up before everyone else in the early morning and enjoy the sounds of silence and peace before the world wakes up.

v further plans for this week…keeping it low…no plans for the week.

BlackBeat 2010 is Back

I wish I could make it to BlackBeat this year. It is really where my heart is. Still it looks to be fabulous even without me being there. If you can go, I would really suggest that you make the effort.

Leatherati

Ok, I don’t know how I missed this site before (perhaps because while I like Leather, and I hang sometimes with Leather, I am definitely not Leather). I ran across this fantastic site the other day while in FetLife. This site is Leatherati. What is Leatherati? In their own words:

Leatherati launched in 2009 after a long (and productive!) gestation in the minds of Loren Berthelsen and Alex Lindsay. Sensing a gaping hole in the informatosphere for things leathery, but not adult-rated, the duo leveraged their long-standing involvement in the leather community to bring you the most comprehensive leather content site available today. Leatherati explores our unique lifestyle of contests and titleholders, travel and events, dining and drinking, entertainment and shopping and of course, news and opinion.

There was an article talking about the importance of fund raising and Leather contests. It gave the history and asked if maybe there was too much emphasis on how much money a person can raise when it may be better done elsewhere and at the cost of other excellent attributes.

If you want to learn a bit about where we come from (admittedly there is more to the story than leather, but it is a big part of it) then I would suggest you do what I plan on doing and spend a few days at the site reading their posts. Truly excellent content.
