Not sure what to make of the first story, but it should go without saying that a 50 should not be playing with 15 and 17 year olds.

A Christchurch man has been convicted on two charges relating to cutting and scarring two teenage girls who went to a house he had converted into a dungeon.

The man, an importer in his 50s, was acquitted on charges of indecent assault and doing indecent acts.

The trial was told of girls aged 15 and 17 undergoing the practice. One had a dragon image cut into her skin, and the other had cuts in between her breasts.

At least one of them had been chained when the cutting was done.

Creepy.

On a lighter note, puppy play is in the news in Dallas, TX.

A proud member of the leather community, Fiddick presents “Pup 101,” a Saturday morning workshop at the International Puppy & Trainer Conference which will be held in conjunction at this weekend’s Beyond Vanilla conference, a BDSM social weekend.

Fiddick explains that puppy play isn’t really that sexual. Now some canines are into “breeding sessions,” but that’s usually geared for dogs, who are generally more mature, might not have as much energy as a puppy and are typically less playful.

Sounds like fun.  Maybe I should get myself a puppy.

Flordia Fetish Weekend Cancelled

The Flordia Fetish Weekend (FFW) event announced (October 31 – November 2)  that the event is cancelled and they will be giving refunds back. I have seen some traffic as to the reasons for the cancellation but it seems to be some disagreement to the final cause.  As I don’t want to get the middle of the argument, I will just keep my mouth shut for once.

Looks like some serious contests will not be happening this year, and that is a shame.

We’ve sped up our previous plans to migrate to a new and improved content management based website, along with a new email listserve, due to a recent server outage. We are still building out this site with FAQs, contacts and greeters, weblinks and other reference information, but the most critical content is already here. We also encourage you to use the Contact TMG email form to write any member of our team or our TMG Board if you have any questions at all. You can write the WebMistress with your comments and suggestions for the new site – what is missing, what would you like to see, what is hard to find? This new format is very flexible and we want it to serve you, our fellow North Carolina BDSM community members, in the best manner possible.

S&M Club Raided in Tribeca (NYC)

Seems that one of the more popular ways we make the news these days is through police raids.

A Manhattan S&M club that billed itself as the “Leading House of Domination in NYC” was put out of business Wednesday after the NYPD busted its manager and seized its business records.

The ladies at the Walker St. club, Rapture, all had “extensive and rigorous” training in the art of bondage, and customers of the Tribeca dungeon were whipped and poked by professionals, its advertising claimed.

The charges are prostitution, which the club denies.  Here is a link to the article in the NY Daily News. I couldn’t find a link to the club through Google. (How is that even possible these days? I think my cat has her own website.)

I am thankful to the most high one that he has brought me to you Sir.  I feel as if in all my years of being lost that i have finally found my home with you Sir.

DSM Revision Petition

A joint Project of NCSF and ITCR: The Foundation of NCSF

The DSM Revision Petition is gathering signatures from individuals
and organizations calling on the American Psychiatric Association
(APA) to adhere to empirical research when revising the diagnoses in
the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).

Statements currently within the DSM Paraphilias criteria are
contradicted by scientific evidence therefore NCSF must conclude that
the interpretation of the Paraphilias criteria has been politically
not scientifically b based. This politically motivated
interpretation subjects BDSM practitioners, fetishists and cross-
dressers to bias, discrimination and social sanctions without any
scientific basis.

Petition:
“We, the undersigned, support the American Psychiatric
Association’s (APA) own goal of making its Diagnostic and Statistical
Manual (DSM) a scientific document, based on empirical research and
devoid of cultural bias. A diagnosis of a mental disorder can
have a severe adverse impact on employment opportunities, child
custody determinations, an individual’s well-being, and other areas
of functioning. Therefore we urge the APA to remove all diagnoses
that are not based upon peer-reviewed, empirical research,
demonstrating distress or dysfunction, from the DSM. The APA
specifically should not promote current social norms or values as a
basis for clinical judgments.”
