Thoughts on Quality

I started this blog a little over three years ago. I have learned over time to be consistent with my posting, trying to get something interesting on this site at least three times a week. Once by my lovely slave, and two times by me. But sometimes life gets in the way. Every once and a while, my muse provides me with no inspiration (or even time on occasion) to post. I would rather focus on quality than quantity. And I have been trying to make my posts better, not just throwing up a video, but explaining why I chose that video.

I think that is true too for a M/s (Master and slave) relationship. All relationships really.

It is particularly dangerous in a M/s Relationship to just coast. To become too focused on the wrote matters of day to day living and life. Each of us must remember to focus on the quality of the relationship, rather on the quantity in the relationship. You cannot make up with time for a lack of devotion to the relationship. The Master must master. The slave must serve. Both must be within the relationship, neither can coast.

Thus is the danger in life of coasting. I am prone to do this, I get comfortable in things, say my job, and don’t think about improving things or changing things until I am pushed to do so. But I can do this in my job.  I cannot do this with my slave.

I must continually push her to be better, and she must in turn challenge me to be the Master she disserves. That isn’t to say that she is going to ever be perfect. And it certainly doesn’t mean that she is topping me when she challenges me. What it does mean is that we each have to strive to be the best of what we are in our relationship.

We are compliments in this relationship.

I complete her submission. I give her purpose and focus in life.

She completes my Mastery. She provides the fulcrum to focus my will upon.

Together we make art. But if either one is absent in the relationship, the art fails. We are incomplete.

Quality over quantity.

I have learned this from writing here. I have had this reinforced by my relationship with my slave, so may states away.

Peace and Tranquility

Fetish in Mainstream Culture

I have been noticing the rise of fetish imagery in the mainstream culture. Perhaps it is a reference in the news. Maybe the latest CSI episode (anyone remember Lady Heather?).

This is a damn site better than the connotations portrayed in the Crow 2, where fetish is used to show how deviant the villains are.

The latest I have seen is Christina Aguilera. Her latest video has may fetish items in it. From a sequined ball gag, to rubber outfits, and even ballet boots. The overtness of the BDSM in this video is simply amazing.

Service Book of Days 5/3/10

v Outside my window… (weather, what do you hear, what do you see?) is darkness.  It was very rainy and muggy today.

v my thoughts… are focused on finding us a place to live.

v Today’s Quote: Nobody realizes that some people expend tremendous energy merely to be normal.

Albert Camus, French existentialist author & philosopher (1913 – 1960)

I can totally dig this quote.  Sometimes it is a lot of work to go to work or be around people who I can’t really be myself with.  I am not talking about in terms of my relationship with Master but just being myself.    It feels like energy being uselessly wasted and I limit my time with those people as much as necessary.  I feel at this point in my life, I don’t have to give energy to people who don’t really want to be around me.

v i am thankful for…air conditioning because of this weekend was any indication of spring…it is going to be very yucky in NJ.

v From my service training…(any skills, training etc; notes you want to share this week) So Master came to visit me last week.  It was a great visit.  I really, really love just being around him but with our moving in the same state getting closer and closer the “buffer” is getting less an less.

v From the kitchen…(menu for the week, what are you cooking?)  Nothing new this week.

v i am wearing… blue tank top and blue shorts.

v i am creating…(crafts, sewing etc;)  nothing new  at the moment.

v my adventures this week…(where are you going this week?)  No adventures.

v Becoming well read…(What are you reading this week?)  Listening to my podcasts.   I just downloaded an audible book recommeneded by one of the people Master listens to on his podcasts.  The book is called Daemon by Daniel Suarez.  It gives a “what if” scenario on what would happen if someone decided to take over our lives using technology.

v i manifest and co-create…(what are your hopes, dreams, and prayers this week)

v Today’s Melody…(what music are you listening to? even if it’s just the sound of a bird…) No music today.

v One of my favorite things…daydreaming.

v further plans for this week…Nothing this week.   Keeping it close to home.

Fetish Photography

I consider myself to be a serious amateur photographer, so I look for videos that are applicable to what I want to shoot. When you watch the video, pay attention to the gear and the poses of the model. That is a serious light on the front of his camera.

Artistic Bondage

While I am no rigger, I do believe that rope bondage can be one of the more artistic aspects to our Lifestyle. Every once in a while I run across such a video.  Sometimes I can even share it with you guys.  I particularly like the ballet bits and the make-up on the girl.  Some of the videography I could do without though. The rigger’s technique is excellent. This really is why shibari is art.

Enjoy!
