Happy New Year

31 12 2009

I just wanted to take a moment and thank those that have been reading my blog of the past couple of years. I think that I have grown a lot while doing this and have had a good time writing each post.I have tried to take the time to focus my blog on BDSM related activities or events that would interest as many as possible. I also hoped that you guys had as much fun reading it as I had writing it.

In the new year, I hope to bring you more of the same. I would also like to get better at this, so if you guys have any constructive criticism or feedback let me know.

That said, I wish you all a wonderful New Year. May it be a good one.

More on BDSM and Feminism

30 12 2009

Very early this year (way back in January), I did a quick post on BDSM and Feminism, linking to an interesting article on Feminist Philosophers. Today, I will point you to an article on SF appeal. The Sexual Manifesto: Can BDSM be Feminist? is an excellent defense of BDSM and makes some very good points about how the Lifestyle is not anti-Feminist. Read the rest of this entry »

Service Book of Days 12/28/09

28 12 2009

Outside my window… (weather, what do you hear, what do you see?)  it is really cold outside.  Unfortunately the cold is not my type of weather and it just makes me feel tired and unproductive.

my thoughts…are mindful.  Realizing that my emotions do not govern everyone elses actions.

Today’s Quote… It’s not that some people have willpower and some don’t. It’s that some people are ready to change and others are not.    James GordonM.D.

i am thankful for…warm brownies with ice cream J

From my service training…(any skills, training etc; notes you want to share this week) Nothing at the moment

From the kitchen…(menu for the week, what are you cooking?)  for my one new meal this week I think I am going to make kabobs.

i am wearing…blue jeans, black cowl neck shirt and Master’s bathrobe…lol  Did I mention that I don’t like the cold.

i am creating…(crafts, sewing etc;)  peace and tranquility.

my adventures this week…(where are you going this week?)  Having the chance to serve Master and the kid this week.

Becoming well read…(What are you reading this week?)  I am not reading anything at the moment

i manifest and co-create…(what are your hopes, dreams, and prayers this week) Peace and tranquility in my house and with my children.

Today’s Melody…(what music are you listening to? even if it’s just the sound of a bird…) No tunes today

One of my favorite things… warm dough sprinkled with cinnamon sugar…mmmm comfort food

further plans for this week…Continuing to fix the house to sell.

Still….life(share a picture you’ve taken OR a picture you found online that speaks to you)

This is where I would like to be right about now…mmmmm

A Great Place for Novices to Start

23 12 2009

One of my favorite places to shop for toys is JT’s Stockroom. I have found that they have a diverse selection of stock and seem to never have shoddy goods. I found out today that they own Kinklab. This where they focus on providing novices an easy entry into the world of BDSM. It is more of a brand of toys than a retailer, so look for it where you shop for your sex toys and feel comfortable that they are good stuff.

Kinklab is the beginner bondage toy line of world-renowned manufacturer, retailer, and distributor Stockroom, Inc. Created in response to a growing mainstream interest in and demand for fetish product, the line draws on Stockroom’s twenty-year history serving the needs of both wholesale and retail kink customers of all experience levels. Though they maintain The Stockroom’s reputation for premium quality leather and fine workmanship, Kinklab products are nevertheless value-priced to remain accessible to the curious beginner.

The Kinklab brand is carefully curated to include only items safe and intuitive to use for those who have little to no experience with BDSM; and all products are presented with a fresh, clean-cut aesthetic to attract a more mainstream customer who is adventurous but who doesn’t identify with a more traditional, black leather-and-chains bondage aesthetic or lifestyle. The elegantly packaged products are presented in ways that take the guesswork out of shopping for unfamiliar gear – compatible items are sold in kits, and packaging incorporates visuals and text to make items as self-explanatory as possible.

You can read about their most recent product announcement (a lube applicator) here.

Happy Holidays!

Service Book of Days 12/22/09

22 12 2009

Outside my window… (weather, what do you hear, what do you see?)  it is a beautiful, chilly clear night.  I see a quarter moon and one star in the sky. J

my thoughts…are happy thoughts.  It is a great time of year and I have decided to not stress about what I cannot buy.   It is really the thought that counts when you are getting gifts for those you love.

Today’s Quote… Each person has an ideal, a hope, a dream which represents the soul. We must give to it the warmth of love, the light of understanding and the essence of encouragement.

Colby Dorr Dam

i am thankful for…each and everyday.

From my service training…(any skills, training etc; notes you want to share this week) Nothing at the moment

From the kitchen…(menu for the week, what are you cooking?)  baked chicken, sweet potatoes, and biscuits.  Comfort food for the cold week.

i am wearing…my warm sweat pants and a big warm shirt.

i am creating…(crafts, sewing etc;)  peace and tranquility and the feeling of the season for my children.  Joyous and celebratory and thankful.

my adventures this week…(where are you going this week?)  I am going no where this week but Master is coming up and bringing his cat…yay

One of my favorite things… is to meditate and be introspective at times.

further plans for this week…Continuing to fix the house to sell.

Leatherworking 101: Basic Tools Part 2

18 12 2009

Picture used per creative commons, some rights reserved.

On Wednesday, I did a post on some basic leatherworking tools. Today I will continue with more basic tools to get you started on you leather working career.

Getting Punchy

One important technique for crafting leather items requires punching a hole through your hide. It is useful for making holes for eyelets, grommets, rivets and screws. I have a pretty basic rotary punch. It is useful for most situations, but I have already broken one (and don’t bother to try and fix it, they are cheap enough to replace). Still, it is a good option and one that I use a lot in my normal leather working.
